Can I install Payroll Mate software on a flash drive?

I do not know if I am going to either change computers or restore hard drives and either way I am not going to be able to save some files. I tried copy and paste on Payroll Mate 2012 so I can save it in case of something happening to my computer but did not work. The file saved fine but the payroll software did not work on the flash drive.

You can back-up your payroll data to a flash drive, but Payroll Mate itself needs to be installed on the local hard drive.

Since you have a concern about switching machines, please remember the following:

1. Each time you run payroll backup your data to an external drive like a flash drive.
2. When you switch to a new machine contact our support department and they will send you download instructions to install the software on the new machine and deactivate from the old machine. Once installed on the new machine you can simply restore your backup from the flash drive and you will be ready to run payroll.
