This means you used the sample company file that comes with Payroll Mate instead of creating your own company file. To fix this, we will need to change the file name to be the company name you want.
To do this:
1) Open Payroll Mate software.
2) From the top menu select "Edit > Preferences > General ".
3) Carefully note the text under "Companies Folder" section of the window. If the name is long, it will end with (...), move your mouse over the name to display the full name so you can write it down.
4) Close Payroll Mate.
5) Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore. Navigate to the companies' folder location you noted above.
6) When you are inside the companies' folder you will see one or more files. One of them will be "Sample Company XXXX" (where XXXX represents the year such as 2014). If you do find more than one file named “Sample Company XXXX” then in this case you will need to sort the files by modify date and select the file that was most recently modified (assuming that the last company you had open in Payroll Mate is the one you want to rename).
7) Right-click the file name and select Rename.
8) Type the new company file name and press Enter. If Windows prompts you to confirm that you want to rename the file, verify that you have entered the new file name correctly and click Yes.
9) Open Payroll Mate.
10) From the top menu select "File > Open Company". Select your company name and hit OK.
11) Now Payroll Mate will open your company file and will show the new name in the title bar.
