Can I send 1099-C forms to the IRS FIRE System using W2 Mate?

Hello,

I would like to send a copy of the 1099-C and/or the 1096 to the IRS through their FIRE system (fire.irs.gov).  Am I able to do that using W2 Mate?  Can I purchase something from W2 Mate that will enable me to prepare a document that can be uploaded to the FIRE system?

Hello Ashlee,
 
Yes you will be able to use W2 Mate to e-file 1099-C (Cancellation of Debt) forms.
 
You simply use W2 Mate to generate the 1099C electronic submission file and you then upload it to the IRS FIRE System. Please refer to our help file for more information about electronic filing.
