TIN:Tax Identification Number. This is the EIN (employer identification number) that was used to file Form 4419. Starting in tax year 2009 transmitters must have an EIN to obtain a TCC number. Social security numbers are still allowed for transmitters who obtained their TCC numbers before 2009.
TCC: Transmitter Control Code. This is the 5-character code that was assigned to the transmitter by the IRS in order to file electronically. TCC is like your unique ID that you need to have to e-file 1099s with the IRS. If you do not have a TCC, please see
"How do I obtain a TCC code?" question.
