Is this 1099 software stand alone or requires any third-party systems?

We are looking for stand alone software that can process 1099 forms on paper and supports transmittal of 1099 info as per the requirements of the NC Department of revenue file format.

Can we install your software locally on our computers here at the office?

Also, is there a limit to the number of 1099's/1096's e-filed?

For some clients we want to type the data and for others we want to import the vendor file from a spreadsheet. Is this supported?

Yes, W2 Mate is complete stand-alone software that you can install locally on your own computer(s) at the office. Each copy can work separate from the others or you can have them networked in order to share the data. This software is dedicated for year-end W2 and 1099 processing and is not an add-on to any accounting systems such as QuickBooks or Sage. The software can import data from different sources, but this does not mean that it needs any third-party tools to work.

There is no limitation whatsoever on the number of 1099 / 1096 transmittals, whether you file on paper or e-file.

Many North Carolina filers have recently switched to our system to comply with the new 1099 regulations that require direct upload of 1099s in a special text-formatted file to their eNC3 website.

To answer your question about typing / import. Yes, you can manually enter the forms data inside our software using screens similar to the actual forms from the IRS. You can also import your data from different sources including vendor files.
