Does the file created for 1099s include state records for combined federal / state filing?

0 votes
We have data loaded into your 1099 fire software and have done test prints but are not ready for submitting yet.

We are obviously new users and have these three questions:

Does the file created for 1099s include state records for combined federal / state filing?

if so, do you have a list of states that participate in the combined filing?

And third question is - can you view / download the file after making?

I will call if I have further questions.

When you create the 1099 e-File submission from inside W2 Mate there is a check box called “Include Combined Federal / State Filing Program Information”. When checked, the resulting file will include the state records for combined federal / state filing. Please remember that some states do participate in the combined fed /s state program, but still require direct upload with them. You will need to check with your state each tax season before you submit your data.

The states that paerticpaite for 2018 are below. Again make sure to double check with the IRS and your state:

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

The file gets saved locally on your computer and you can review before you upload to the IRS FIRE System (https://fire.irs.gov/) .
