Does your 1099 software print federal 1099 copies?

I purchased the software to prepare 1099’s for two independent contractors.  The forms printing are  (a) Recipient, (b)State Tax Department and (c) State Income Tax Department.

I can’t understand why I can’t get (a) local, and (b) Federal copies.

W2 Mate prints 1099-Misc Copies B, C, State 1 and State 2 on blank paper. It will also print on the preformatted red ink laser form 1099-Misc Copy A and 1096 forms.

The IRS will not accept laser generated 1099 Copy A or 1096 forms.  You can upgrade to a 1099 Kit (30 Copy-A Laser 1099 Misc forms + 5 Laser 1096 summary forms + W2 Mate Software) which is normally $40.  You will pay a $1 more plus shipping, since you already purchased the software for $39.  To upgrade, please contact our sales team at 800-507-1992. If you have more than 30 MISC forms to issue we offer additional MISC A forms in quantities of 25.

In regards to local forms, the IRS does not support 1099-Misc Local Copies.  If you believe your locality requires a copy, you should contact them directly and ask which form to send.
