1099s can we print them out on plain 8 ½ x 11 paper?

If we use the W2 Mate software for 1099’s can we just print them out on plain 8 ½ x 11 paper and turn them in to the federal/state/payer/recipient or do we have to get the preprinted forms for this?

We have 1099 Misc, R and S that we file.  The number varies from year to year.  I was having to type these out manually on a typewriter last year and I don't want to do that this year..haha.  This software will help tremendously if I can get it approved.  I just wanted to make sure about the forms first.

You only need the red forms for filing with the IRS, all other copies, W2 Mate will print on plain 8 ½ x 11 paper.

So for the state, recipient and the payer on white paper.

The federal needs to be re-ink pre-printed forms and do sell these forms.
