Can we generate both 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC for the same recipient?

We need help with a question I could not find a direct answer for on your website.

We are looking at your W2 Mate product to process 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC for 2020. We can see that your software supports both types of returns, but we want to make sure we can issue these forms for the same recipient (in other words, two types of forms for the same SSN / EIN). This might not seem as a requirement for other customers, but it’s important in our case.

Kindly answer the above question as it would help us understand your capabilities better.

Yes, using our W2 Mate software you can generate and print both 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC forms for the same recipient with the same tax identification number (SSN / EIN) and name. When you create a new recipient, just remember to select “Use 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC”, in the “New Recipient” window. This feature was actually one of the design principles we had when adding support for the new 1099-NEC form this year.
